Exchange emails with a newly started programmer
Konnichiwa Congraturation!!! You're hired as a programmer!!Though I'm also an IT engineer,my field is hardware not software so I have few mind how to give you an advice but anyway you're young and have endless possibility to expand your ability.Don'T worry!! Time will ease your anxiety to get used to your new job.As for me,when I first started my career as a semiconductor engineer,I have no mind about it and I could hardly imagine how I can develop my skill to learn such a complicated techonology. However,as time passes by,I learned that any kind of such job is a task work and individual skill doesn't need to cover whole picture of the job.Your job programmer must be similar as well.Look at the Olympic game.Though the field to devote the energy is quite different, the philosophy runnning deep at the bottom is similar to what we do.Hope you'll get your gold medal in your job.
I've heard of VB as well as JAVA.I recently studied assembler language in order to grasp broader picture of my semiconductor job by learning the basic function of computer.
I also studied the basic theory of how Windows works.I was really facinated when I could finally understand how three parts, harddisk,CPU and memory are working together magically to achieve multi-task by the "paging theory".It's like fantastic teamwork of the Olympic game.

Konnichiwa , today I just got hired by a company as a Project base Visual Basic programmer not Java. I don't know if you have heard those programming languages.I will start next week and I'm scared because this is my first time to work as a programmer and I have no idea on what I will be doing. What can you advice me?
